Can my rips work with cheats with Ar2 v2

What kind o chip do you have? If you are using the god aweful swap discs then no, otherwise you should have no problem.

i would like to know the same thing. so far, i've tried just w/ tiger woods and once i start the game ('play now mode") teh game freezes. but most of the time, i can't even load up ar max at all. i had ask this question on the official AR forum and the mod got ticked off for asking it, he said they condone piracy....i guess he's saying that's cheating...go figure.

The answer is sometimes. Some games just wont do it. While others take cheats very well.

I think cheats dont work at all with rips
Cause i tried this thing with 2 other rips but with no luck
And yes one game that is Chaos legion Ntsc rip worked fine with cheats but with other games no luck
Y did this happen
Y is it so that some rips work with cheats while others dont????/

The reason some rips dont work with codes is because they already have codes enabling them to function properly. I figure that sometimes some of those codes interfere with cheats and the cheats wont work.

Cheat codes are not intelligent. They simply change a value at a specific address in memory. If the variable you are trying to change is off the expected memory location by one single byte, the code will not work of crash the game. All rips modify executable code to disable DVD checking, possibly moving code to new memory locations.

Here’s what the Codebreaker site also had to say about codes not working:

Sometimes there are reasons beyond our control that could cause a code not to work. Like for example, we had a code posted for Grand Theft Auto 3 for Infinite Health. The code worked for me on every Playstation 2 I had tested it on, yet we were still getting complaints about it not working. I still to this day do not know WHY the code was different for some people very rarely, it could have been model of PS2 and/or memory cards plugged in and the sony libraries could have used more/less memory. But when this happens, the only thing I can do is try and make a better version of the code in assembly language. That seemed to fix this problem for Grand Theft Auto 3 Infinite Health and Infinite Armor.


I’ve tried codebreaker V4, with 4 rips so far, and got 3 out of 4 to work.

With ripping ps2 games nowadays. Its not only a dvd check that they change. They have to look for media size checks, date authentification checks, and various other checks.
