Are those the only two you are considering? Pioneer is the way to go.

Will a pioneer work with a intel celeron processor

Yeah. Burners aren't processor specific.

i was looking at them on bestbuy.com and one of the requirements was a pentium 3 .but that doesnt matter? is what your saying.

Nope. I know people who have a 500mhz or so processor and have no problems.

Why is it worth the extra money for the 106......????

It cant be just because the +R/+RW ability...

Pioneer 106 is top machine. No problems installing, no problems recognising an no problems burning. Compared to the 104 ( dog sh1t burner) this machine is da best.

PS...can I just say that this is my 700th post:p

Cos the 105 is old technology. If u were buying a ps2 u wouldn't go out an find a V5 30003R cos ur m8 had one an it was reliable would u, u'd get a 50003. Same wiv everything else dude.

hehe yeah 106's rock :D i had no problems and the 105 is yesturdays news so pay the extra 20 quid or bout ($40) and get better capability and some disks dont record on ****ty 105's and it records +r/+rw

If I had to buy a burner I would get an A05/105 too. The ability to burn to +r is pointless in my opinion, but that is just me.

i agree +r/+rw is completely pointless...i have the sony dru500, and i have the ability to use +r/+rw, but i have yet to use it....stick w/ -r.....there is really no reason to use +r

usually i wiv bighap but not on this. It ain't about compatibility of dvd+r. It about the fact that there is probably about 1000 improvements on the 105/a05. Pioneer don't want units sent back for repair/replacement so every unit they release they improve to make sure it don't happen. The 105/a05 is an older model hence it ain't pioneers best. If u fink that the 106/a06 is just an a05/105 with +r compatibility u r wrong.

Still luv ya bighap XX
