He there, got a question.
I`ve had a Xbox modded with the 2-lite. It works just fine. Now I sold my xbox and want to buy a new one. I had heard something about modding your xbox without a chip. You should be able to flash your xbox-bios and overwrite it so the xbox can read copies of games without a modchip. And if it`s possible where can i find a guide to do it. I`ve searched on www.xbox-scene.com but i don`t know what to look for.
Any help?
You have to have a Modchip to play imports and copies of games safely. Their are other methods of playing back-ups on the three top systems such as the X-Box, but they can permanently damage your system if you arent careful. The only safe solution would be to get a pre-modded X2.2 Pro X-Box. I highly recommend www.modchipman.com if you are in the U.S. They even have a premodded X-Box with a 120 Gb Harddrive upgrade for about $400.

Yeah its possible to overwrite the ROM on the Xbox permanently but it's risky and you can get a chip with a lot more flexibility and safety for only @50. Why risk your beloved $200 Box over saving $50 on a onetime investment?

I just bought an XBOX a week ago and then used a Game Exploit to mod it without a mod chip or opening my XBOX which means I retain my warranty!
I can now run backup discs, XB Media Player etc and run games from my XBOX HD.

If the above link does not work then just goto xbox scene, click on Tutorials and then click on No-Modchip Exploits
I used the Action Replay and Mechassult method - probably the easiest but you do need Action Replay and original Mechassault (not a backup!)
