I have a Verbatim DVD-r here and comparing the recording surface of the verbatim and the optodisc the optodisc has a little lighter color however I can see the light somewhat clearly (not as much as a cheap cd-r) even up to about a foot and a half, 2 feet away from my face with the verbatim I can barely see the light up to my eye so do you have any thoughts as for telling this with dvd's espicially I really can't tell well

well i bought some lead-data disk and i would go blind looking at the sun through them and the games played like crap on them now i bought some dvd-on dvd-rs u can see through them but not as much as lead and they play the games just fine so i thinking the darker the disk the better they play what u can do is buy the smallest pack of them and try them out i use kingdom hearts to test my disk out cause on cheap media the first moive sence skips relly bad cant even get into the game but with mid and high class media it plays fine and one last thing how much dose these cost ?

they're $2.25 Canadian (with no case) which is actually pretty good as Princo's around here are $2.99. I tried an anime move I had download for backup purposes and I could swap through english and japanese langauge or subtitle but for some reason the extras and previews wouldn't work that well it would stop reading and say can't read disc or something along the lines of that but I actually think running the image off the computer with Daemon tools it did the same thing
