dvd writes and readers

how fast do u think a dvd writer reads ? cause im thinking if there not to fast at reading if i bought a 16x dvd-rom could i use them to rip movies faster cause now it seems to take forever to rip a moive usely 45 mins to a hour pre moive

A dvd-rom is an excellent investment. I use mine all the time for ripping. It is faster and it reduces the wear and tear on your burner.

i found one on pricewatch.com for 30$ shiped dvd read 16x cd rom read 48x i looked on my dvd-r stats its only a 12 x reader so im going to buy one tommarow

i bought me a lg dvd-rom today for 30$ shiped 16x and 48x cd read and it will also read dvd-rs :) all the dvd-roms i seen today read dvd-r but said nothing about +r will they not read + media

LG Rock!:) i had a 4x cdrw it worked perfectly i made loads of backups with that well worth the 100 pounds i payed for it
