ok first of all im new to the dvd burning, ok i bought an optorite dvd burner{tight on money} and i have some maxell dvdrw + and when i back up a movie it skipps really bad on my dvd player and my pc. is this something im doing wrong or is it the medium im using? so far ive tried to backup phonebooth and national lampoons christmas vacation. both are know to the pc and will try and play but they skip really bad. also i can only burn the rw's at 2.4x i cannot change this. please help.. tia

Could possibly just be the media. Try better media like Ritek, Verbatim, or TDK.

And use +r instead of +rw.

ok i went out and bought a 3 pack of sony dvd+r's. and i tried burning all three and the same thing happens? could i be making the images to fast? or is it ok to use maximum read speed? tia
How are you backing up these dvds?

well i have tried many diff software, stomp, nero , alcohol 120%
and all are the same just skips and wont play
You just stick them in and burn or do you use a compression and or ripping prog as well?

nope all of them are straight images from the original dvd's, i hope that its just the media i am using, i have backed up a few of my xbox games and they work just fine. so i believe that the problem could be and correct me if im wrong...
making the image to fast.
burning the image to fast.
or not making the image with the proper settings.
You need to rip the movie first with dvd decypter or smart ripper to remove the protection....
