I have used Nero 6.0.0.15 and CDRWin 5. witch of the two is more reliable or is there some other software that can make better 1.1 backups?

Don't use either. Get CloneCD or Alcohol 120%.

bighap, what are the advantages of Alcohol 120% and CloneCD over Nero and CDRWIN when making 1.1 backups of PS2 games?

ok I tried Alcohol 120% 1.4.0.103 and it seems to work just fine... does anyone know witch of all the software's will put less stress on the PS2 laser when reading backups?

It's the discs which the games are burned on that cause the problem, not the software which is burning it. Verbatim DataLife PLUS are the best discs to go for when backing up CD-R. Hope this helps...

Cdrwin and Nero don't do well with protections. Alcohol and CloneCD get by them.

Yes you want to use high quality dvd-r. Ritek is the best. The best place to get them is from here (http://top10dvdstore.com/ritek1xdvdr.html)

The latest version of Nero does support RAW-DAO-96 just like clonecd and alcohol, I still like clonecd the best though.
