I need to convert VOB files to AVI files.
Acctually just a part of the VOB file - 15 seconds, but I can cut it out with VirtualDub later.

I know there are many RIPPING programs, but I don't have enough space to rip the file.

Are there any programs that can convert VOB files RIGHT OF THE DVD to AVI files or MPEG files???

Everything you need is here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/convert)

No, its not, it tells how to backup to AVI from ASF files, etc, but NOT VOB files, AND I also need sound to come with those VOB files...

I found that site to be very not helpful!

Actually it is there. Look here (http://www.aviscript.de/howto/HowToMPG.htm). Convert to mpeg2 then to avi.

Thanks...

This is very complicated though...

Me and my friend are trying it out, but now are stuck!
We got the d2v file and the .wav file extracted, but I don't know how to sync them together into an AVI file!

We also cannot find the DV codec, we sort of did, but its a .RAMM file - how to install?

Is there just ONE prgram that can do I for me?

MovieJack does fine, BUT it does NOT record the audio!

Things would be much easier if you could had more space. Any way of clearing up enough space by burning some things to a dvd or two?

NM, those DVDs that I wanted to use (I just needed 15 seconds of footage from LOTR) are highly protected - sucks, I never made it, ended up by downloading trailers...

If you had more space about 10gigs would be enough. You could do it fairly easy.
