can someone help me find a no cd crack for the original unreal tournament not UT2003?

Thanks for the link... I'm haveing a problem with the patch though, when I double click on it and follow the instructions to the part when I need to insert the cd it says that its NOT THE CORRECT CD... Would anyone know why this happens. because it is definatetly the correct cd. "theres only one" thanks again...

Well that is quite bizzare... When i patched the game it did not ask for any cd... anyway.. the only reason i can think for this message is that u are not using the original cd... just a backup one... If u are using the original cd then maybe u should check the registry.. what i mean.. locate the unreal tournament entry at local machine i think... then see what is the value of "Game cd" i think again :) anyway.. lets say your cd is at E:\ but in "game cd" if it says F:\ ... change it.. anyway u got the picture i hope... :) at the end if nothing works... ... try reinstalling the game :) ^^

What condition is your CD in? I don't recall ever having any trouble copying UT, or ever needing a no-cd. I don't believe there's any protection.

Hopefully, you have a CD-burner w/ some burn-proof technology.. try making an image of the cd on your HD and mounting it w/ daemon tools.. then installing the patch.

UT does ask for the CD1 when you apply the 436 patch.

If this doesn't help, insure that you have the correct cd-rom drive selected :p

I reinstalled the game again just to be sure and still the same result; I double click the patch it says that "in order to install the update some files must be copied off the original unreal tounament cd rom"

when I put the cd in (and I use the correct drive letter) an error says;

"the expected version of unreal tournament file system/botpack.u was not found on the cd-rom

please verify that the proper cd is in the drive"

Unreal tournament is protected by Safedisc V1 and I have made a back up copy using alcohol 120% but I am using the original cd in the above process.

I'm wondering if the update is the wrong one for this game. Is there something else I can try?

Ehm.. I don't know.. that patch works for my version of UT. I have the GOTY one. I'm sure we're talkin about the same game and not the original unreal.. I hope.

What is GOTY maybe this is the problem...

Hmm.. well, that's the same engine class. Not Unreal. GOTY = Game of the Year edition.

Try some of the cracks listed on >this< (http://www.megagames.com/cracks/html/34525_0.htm) page and see if they might help you. Apparently others had problems as well.

There were some repacks of UT (e.g. bundled with some hardware) that had a different CD layout. If you have one of these, the standard-patch would complain.
Altough, there is a so-called "big patch" for UT published by Epic, that does not require the CD for an upgrade. Look for utpatch436creative.exe, you can find it for example on fileplanet: http://www.fileplanet.com/files/120000/124274.shtml
