My best friend & I have apartments right next door to each other, we ran a phone cord thru the wall, he taps off of my DirecTV dish and this past weekend we decided to get The PS2 Ethernet adapter.

We both own SOCOM and Midnight Club 2. We figured most games would work tight over a LAN woth no DSL or CABLE. Well Midnight Club 2 does, but SOCOM does not.

My question is: Anyone know what games I can play over the LAN and not have to worry about DSL?

Also, what about the EA games like Madden? I would imagine that you can play them no problem over a LAN, hell you can only play with two players anyway.

We do realize the need for us to get DSL is at the top of the list.

Thanks
Pepe

Well, if you have run a phone cord through the wall, why not run an I-Link cable through there too. I wouldn't have thought SOCOM would have any trouble running through that...

Hope this helps...

Shouldn't the I-Link cable work the same as what I have now?

We have 2 Ethernet adapters, and a router, works ok for Midnight Club 2 but nothing else.

What exactly does an I-Link cable do?

It allows two PS2 systems to be hooked up over a LAN without the need for an internet connection. Your router may be confusing the PS2. You could try and borrow one and see if it makes a difference.

lufcfan,

I didn't see any multi player option over I-Link connection in socom, The only game that I've seen is Gran turismo 3 that support I-Link, are you sure about that ?

Well, I haven't tried it personally, but it does create a LAN between two consoles...
