C&C Generals online help

I made a back up copy of C & C Generals and when I try to play online I do not see any games being played? Am I doing something wrong or is there no online game play at this time. Please help

I assume you did patch to the latest version ? What is it these days, 1.06 ?

It said that i have a invalid serial number. Is there any way to change the serial number without reinstalling the game?
