hey dudes i was wondering if its possiable to have and internal ide drive external like a cd writer using an ide connection to plug into a usb or firewire is it possiable???

Try getting an IDE enclosure. PC Club (http://www.pcclub.com) has a few different brands/models. They're listed under data storage --> enclosures.
