ok, I have no clue about anything related to modchips and or backing up, I have been slowly reading thru the faqs and posts.

I see that Messiah 2 is the prefered chip, I found it here (http://modchip.ca/products/ps2/messiah2.php) for 65 US

then I saw some throeada about the Apple Pro, and it is here (http://www.modchips.cc/products/ps2/applepro/applepro.html) for 20 US

doing some breif reading I noticed that ppl say their are no cons for either chips, so I guess I am asking, if both chips are great, should I spend more on the M2, which seems to be the chip of choice, or spend 20 on the AP?

edit: I just wanna say, money is not the issue, I just want to make sure I buy one mod chip and it is what is currently the best, I did some searching, cheapest I found the messiah 2 for was 50, but I think it was v1.2, so if anybody can link me to a solid website with a good deal on the messiah 2 v1.3 I would appreciate it :)

You do know that you are on the ps1 board and are refering to ps2 modchips right?

Both chips are basically flawless. I love my Apple Pro. Choose as you wish.

lmao, snap, I didn't even notice, after I posted I was like, where did the mod chip thread go :D and couldn't find it, lol

personally i spend extra few bucks and buy the tried tested one


apple seems to be a fine chip,but still early days probs could still arise eg splinter cell although this has been worked out or 5v power supply
