had a situation, i have original owened Generals cd, im trying to

play online with a friend, i cant seem to host because he cant find

my game at all on the server. Im guessing firewall with router. So

he is hosting, i join in and we start the game, in about 5 to 10

seconds later when game begins, it shows that he gets

disconnected ?? everytime we try this , same thing happens.

Anyone experiences the same situation ?? Any solutions ??

There's a wealth of C&C generals topics about this, please read them first, they may contain your answer.

lol , if i would of found it , i wouldnt be posting it up. I been

checking pages after pages , and didnt find out why, and have

also been into the help pages of EA games trying to find out why.

Did read this of theirs :

Question
What can I do about people disconnecting on me in CnC: Generals?

Answer
Some CnC: Generals players are disconnecting from the game when it appears as if they're starting to lose the game. The CnC: Generals development team is aware of this problem, however there is nothing to currently prevent this from happening. If you play against players who consistently disconnect, try and avoid them in the future.

so am still looking if any sullutions anyone has found out, am

going to try some router configs, to see if it resolves the problem.

Can be a LAG problem. To high ping so it dissconects... And yes shutdown Firewall is a good idea....it's fixing some ping problems...

i tried EA's router settings but cant seem to host yet, but my main

consern is, my friend blows up when we play online, he has no

patch or anything, just installed the game and put serial key.

Happened to anyone? Thanks, tried looking this up, but found

just alittle info so far about this.

If everything blows up for your friends, it's sounds like he's using a bad crack/bad copy...

IIRC everything blowing up happens when you're messing with invalid serial keys. or maybe when you change the key. In any case, tell him to reinstall and use his original serial and all should be well

He could also have a MOD, and it kicks you off,I tried the game with a mod that made the tank float and I couldn't connect to my friend, If you both do a clean installl and both have a retail ver with no firewalls or routers you will connect.

What I've heard, it's when you use a bad no-cd crack for the .dat file. There are two ways to crack it. The easy way, that's can do as you building explode, and the clean and tricky way and building stand still.

But to be 100% sure, use the original cd-key!

thanks, will have him try it out, inorder to uninstall everything

about Generals, to go to uninstall of course, but how about the

registry stuff, or stuff that still remains hidden in your pc , how

you find them to delete if theres any? thanks

Check for EA Games ( or similar) in the registry, you should be able to navigate to the correct keys then.

Look under the "Software" sections. If you can't find them...well, that's nice.
