with this movie it only gets like 20% complete with dvd decrpter and it causes errors and with dvd shrink its only gets like 2% then errors. what should/can i do?

Try playing about 5 minutes of the movie first then try using a prog.

i played the whole movie it works fine just wont back up for some reason

Is it dirty or damaged at all? You might want to try another original if possible.

no it isnt dirty or damaged but every time i go to decrypte it , it fails to decrypt VTS_01_0.VOB wich i think is the main movie file

Play 2 minutes of the movie and stop it. Open decrypter and try ripping. Your region is ok right?

still same problem i dont know about the region but i assume its good because i backed up like 5 other dvd's no problems

This may sound simple but do you have enough disk space!!

yeah i have more than enough disc space and i finally! got to back it up. heres what happened. usind dvd decrpter and smart ripper i only was able to encode like 20% and it would cause an error. so i used dvd shrink and got to 25% then error, so i cleaned the disc again and again and again and still same prob, the whole time im trying to backup the entire dvd (extras and all that like 7.17 gb) so i then decided to just copy the main movie only (4.22 gb) with dvd shrink and it works! so thanks for the help and sugesstions

By any chance, is your hard drive formatted as FAT32 or NTFS?

ok use smart ripper to rip the dvd then use dvdx to convert it to mpeg or avi hope this helps maybe try cleaning the dvd first
