no solder testing [Archive]

Is there a way to test if a no solder mod works or not with swap magic without having a backup? I plan to install my mod tomorrow and dont have any backups yet.

No. Make a backup and install it. Then you will know.

Ok, then would a playstation1 backup work with the swap magic discs? If it does would that be enough to know that the mod chip will boot ps2 cdr and dvdr backups? Or i if i just test it out with a ps2 cdr backup would that mean that the dvdr backups will work too or am i gonna have to test the modchip out with both a cdr and dvdr to make sure it works?

Swap magic doesn't support ps1 games. To make sure it is fully working you should test with a cd and dvd p2s game.
