Personally and I'm sure most/some will agree, go with a Messiah 2 and ditch the Magic 3.1. Also if you do decide to get a DVD Burner, go with a Pioneer A05 or if you want dual media capability (DVD+/-R) go for the A06 (I myself have a A06 External, and I love it :D ). Also with Ritek DVD-R, you can't go wrong. For the Messiah 2, PM bighap or dust2dust they can hook you up. Hope this helps!:)

Regarding the Magic3.1/3.6 Chip, see a few threads in this forums ( like my Issues with it (http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52671) ).

So far im either getting a DMS3 or the MEssiah( if I can find it anywhere ) to replace my Magic Modchip.

For Burners, I have a Toshiba R5002 myself, burns 2x Max, cheap, supports all important features ( copy weak sectors with CloneCD, overburn ) and if test-results are valid delivers very high quality Burns.

Regarding Lite-On, this is a brand I clearly stay away from. I enjoyed a reads-almost-nothing CDRom from that brand and a friend of mine had 2 CDs Bursted in LiteOn Drives( Before that I thought such storys are gossip ). Maybe other Experiences differ, but my stomach tells me to avoid Lite-On ever since.

STEER CLEAR OF DMS3. You'll only create problems for yourself. Go with the Messiah 2 PRO. Messiah are now no longer being made, so you won't find one. Lite-on drives are very good (don't know about their DVD Burners) but to be honest, I would rather have my Plextor CD-RW and Pioneer DVD-RW any day, but that is just personal preference. Go with a Pioneer A05/105, you don't need an A06/106.
