battlefield 1942 1.4 patch with mods problem

ok the problem i am having is that when i trie to activate a mod in battlefield 1942 i get deal like the game is reseting and then it seds me back to desktop this is getting very annoying and i was wondering if there is anyway to fix this should i make a cd copy of the game i am currently using daemon tool to try running it but had no luck so i used no cd crack wich works fine untill i trie useing a mod please help me thank you :)

OR just start over the LINK in menu, not direct in the game!!!!
