I was wondering what people think about the new fliplid with Boot cd. Does this work....Sounds easier then soldering 24 wires...
Thanks
They are garbage. Everyone here will tell you the same thing. They suck. They might seem like a cheap easy way around modding your system, but they are crap. You can get a chip installed for $30 nowadays. Where you located?

I have a brand new PS2 39010/N
What chip do you recomend.
I have dvd Burner Pioneer a05
Depends what you want to be able to do. If you just want to play your ps1/ps2 backups get a Messiah 2($45) or Apple Pro($20). If you want extra features such as macrovision free and mostly other pointless stuff, get a DMS3($60)
Look here (http://www.chipinstallation.com/) for installers in your area.
I you want to talk more, I am on AIM under FileForumsGod
And honestly - if you're willing to crack open the system and replace the lid with some cheap piece of plastic, why not go the extra step and solder a few points? Seriously now...
I've always wondered about this.
People are willing to use knives, fliptops, slide cards, or even open the machine ...
But balk at getting real no-swap chips.
WHY?

I've decided that I'm no longer going to be nice to people who insist on defending their choice of no-solder option.
I'm just going to use as many references as possible to feces until they get the damn picture.

Does this new attitude go with the new avatar?:D
Nah, I'm having a bad couple days and taking it out on the clueless. I'll get better eventually. ROFL.
'Course my OTHER avatar was "Ash" from "Army of Darkness", which is only MARGINALLY better.
