I am new to burning dvds for the ps2 and i tried burning madden 2003 using primo prassi dvd 2.0 and the game booted up the first time but never again can antone tell me what i did wrong? is there a EA Sports patch i can use like the cd games used to use or is there just somthing wrong with what i did?
Thanks ,
Greg
It is probably due to crap media. What did you use? What version ps2 do you have? What mod? Do you multitask while burning?
dvd 2 dvd requires no patch , what chip are u using ?

i am using the brand new slide card with the swaqp magic disks i used a dvd-r made by hypermedia and i have an version 3 us ps2 i believe
Thanks

Ugly. No offense but slide cards suck. So do v3 systems. I would try better media first. Verbatim or Ritek is a good choice. Your laser might also need cleaning with a cleaning disc.

ok i try the media you suggested thank you very much for the help oh and why does the slide card suck i cant seam to see why its not a great idea but i am new to ps2 mods
Thanks again,
Greg
Jamming a foreign device into your ps2 is not a good idea. Many people think of it as a cheap way out, which isn't true. 9 out of 10 times people bust their ps2 because of the slide card/credit card/knife trick. A chip is a lot cheaper than a new ps2. I know someone who has a magic 2 that will sell dirt cheap. PM me for details.

what about maxell dvd-r are those any good i have a bunch of them and i want to thank you for your help bighap you have been very generous with your time to a ps2 newbie have fun and keep jammin
If you have Maxell give one a try. The problem with a v3 is that their lasers sucked; as a result, you usually have to use high quality media such as Verbatim or Ritek.

You said there is no need to path with DVD to DVD copying. I made a direct copy of Resident Evil Code Veronica fine my first time. NEC ND1300A burner using NTI CD/DVD burner software. Even on a CD-RW. Then I went to copy The Getaway and Enter THe Matrix and they did not burn correctly. What would cause this? Does anyone know how I can get Nero to verify my unsupported drive without the original CD? Or why Record Now Max won't recognize the drive? Does Roxio work well for copies?
-Mark
RecordNow Max is the best. Roxio sucks. Did you try installing the latest px engine here (http://support.sonic.com/Downloads/engine.asp) ?

Dear All,
I'm new on the site and new to this gaming thing.
However, i would like some advice, from anyone, about creating back-ups for PS2 games - by copyinjg them to a CD or a DVD. Can anyone advise me on what exactly i need to do and where i can obtain any necessary software - or hardware, if necessary - please?
You have much to learn young grasshopper. Read through the stickies at the top of the board.

BG / Bighap,
I know i've asked a question which has been asked a thousand times.....but unfortunately i'm so useless with technology that i need the re-assurance from people before i do something.
I'll gladly refer to other posts to find out how to solve my earlier query....but can you tell me something....what is a "STICKY" and where is it?
They are posts that are stuck at the top of the board for reference. The first 7 posts are stickies.
