Hi everyone.
Wondering if anyone would know if I need to patch DQ4 (since it only came out in japan), to play on a US psx. If so, could you tell me where to get a patch.

If it is an import you are going to need a mod. Patching shouldn't be necessary.

If by mod you mean modchip, then I already have one in my psx. I wrote the cd and this is what happened when I tried it:
The ps booted up and after the initial logo screen, the screen went mostly black with another copy of the initial logo (the triangles) distorted on screen. The triangle on the left side appeared smaller, and kind of transparent, but the one on the right side disappeared.
This is why I figured that I probably needed a patch. Any help would be appreciated.

The only patch I have come accross is a license fix patch(jap). You can get it here (http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches_d_3.shtml)

I took the file on the site you gave me, and I patched the game's bin file I created and after burning it with CDRwin it still doesn't work.
Any other ideas?

This sux, however on the plus side I am getting a significant amount of drink coasters ;)

Is there anyone out there who successfully got this game to work?
