I don't actually know what my chip is. What I do know is in order to boot games I have to do the following.:

1. Hold in Power button until the CD Eject light comes on.
2. Then I eject the CD Tray and put my backup in.
3. Close the tray.
4. Switch the console off.
5. Hold in Power button again until the CD Eject light comes on.
6. The game then boots.

It is a bit of an unreliable chip as sometimes my games fail to boot. I have a v5 console and the guy who was chipping it reckoned that it was too old to put an M2 in there - what an a***hole! :D

So what chip do I have? Any ideas...
Thanks for the help, Foyboy :D

I'm his mate and I've been backing up his collection (we live just down the road from eachother). This is to boot his PS2 DVD Backups.

It could be a magic, or an apple, or an NH3. Check how each thing boot's, DVD movie, Ps1 original/backup etc. Just match them to the boot procdeudres and you're set.
