Can someone give me some advice?
my ps2 which is NOT chipped and has not had the back off-ever, will not play original ps2 games anymore.
dvds and cds play ok but when i insert a game the start up screen starts and then the drive just clicks.
what is the problem?
can i fix it myself?
any idea how much it will cost to repair?
any advice/help will be gratefully received
cheers
arthur

Try a cleaning disc. Your laser could just be dirty. If that doesn't help you either need to get a replacement laser or a new ps2 altogether.

Send it back to sony, they will replace it for free.

Only if it is still under warranty, which is only 90 after the purchase date.

Nope, they will take it in no matter how long you've had it, as long as no mod is installed, even if you have opened it, I've done it before I got a mod, just to make sure my laser was strong enough, they gave me a new one also. On the gamefaqs msg boards someone made a topic about it, just dial a number and you're set.
