Anyone find out whatever happened to the "upgraded" PS2 NTSC that was supposed to have a better laser lens, quieter fan, network adapter, built in sensor for remolte, and DVD progressive scanning??

I saw where Best Buy advertised them but never got them. They just had the unit with the network adapter included.

Anyone heard anything?

There were two different releases. One is just a v7 with network adapter included for $180. The other is the new system with all the new features for $200. This new system was supposedly released earlier this month.

Hey Big,

No, the $179.00 one is just a standard V7 PS2 in which the price was lowered. The $200.00 one, in stores now, is a V7 with only the network adapter included. They never came out with the one that had all the things I mentioned above. As I said Best Buy in he U.S. advertised them but admitted they never got them.

Oh sh*t. I knew that. Guess I was out to lunch.:o They are also selling packages for $200 that come with a cheap ass dvd remote and some other useless crap too.

from what I am understanding somebody higher up in Sony screwed the whole thing up. They ordered a huge amount of regular v7 ps2s with the network bundles instead of the re-models. ONce the mistake was made they were all across the US so Sony figured what was the point of recalling them? We'll see the re-models once all the original online bundles sell out completely.

I believe it was annouced that they won't be coming out until fall sometime in the US.
