View Full Version : Elby CloneDVD is released... BUT
It doesn't seem to work for PS2 games! I have tried every option available, and it only seems to support DVD Video. Have a look and see what you think at elby.de.
Yep, movies only. Oh well. I am perfectly happy with RNM.

clonedvd is not good enough yet
matrix many film copiers fail here
clonedvd matrix fail :(
dvd20ne pass (does most films in 20 mins here)
It looks like Elby really let themselves down here then doesn't it guys?..
Well, there's a suprise.
CloneCD sucked, never got it to work properly on either of my writers, and now they messin up again.
Alcohol 120% or PrimoDVD2 or Record Now Max will copy any PS2 CD or DVD so why do we need another copy program.
Regards
Not to disagree with you...... BUT....
Clone CD was "and still is" one of the BEST cd copying programs there is......(In my opinion)
I have copied things successfully with Clone CD that Alcohol 120 & RecordNow Max would not even think about......
I think it comes down to "each his own"......
Because there are people that can use Primo DVD with the Pioneer A05 with no problems at all and others (like myself) CANT use it even if my life depended on it.....
Its the same with copying dvd movies.....
ALOT of people swear by DVD-X-COPY.....
Personally, I HATE IT (Don't HATE me Bighap :) )...... I can rip and burn a movie in the same time that dvd-x-copy can AND I can have custom pics and menus, text...etc....
If you find something that you like and it works.... USE IT......
:D
What you've said is quite right, respect to u an all that...........................BUT....
I've not found anything that cloneCD will copy that Alcohol won't
(CD wise), Also Primo and RNM both do very good jobs at copying ps2 cds as well.
Alcohol will also burn CloneCD images perfectly and CloneCD just don't like my writers so I'm bound to be Biased!!!
Having said that am due to upgrade to Lite-on X52 writer and Pioneer A-06 shortly so will give CloneCD another go although I still don't see whats the big deal with it.
For PSX there is still other copy programs just as thorough ( Blind Read/Write) and for PS2 cd's, just about anything seems to work!
As for DVDX-copy, I agree. I usually use DVDDecrypter, that way u can choose what u can fit onto dvd-r and if the movie dont fit I just DivX it.
Regards
would have to agree with BG there, i'm yet to come accross a cd which Clone will fail on, plus it works a dream with all my drives so I stick with it. and the product has been around for years now and has plenty of time to stabilse during its version history.
whatever works best for you really :)
Clone was the FIRST to bring out a product that worked on 99% of copy protections out there.
That said, I haven't used CloneCD in a while, despite actually owning a license. *shrug*
It stopped being useful around the time that NeverWinter Nights came out, and the versions of SafeDisc and SecuROM that followed that. Bleh.

i use conly and clone cd for all ps1 back up no probs
but i backed up jurassic park genesis ps2 with clone cd and didn't
work at all so i did it with disk juggler and it was 100%
so i don't know?
Yeah, as u say, its what works for you. Used Blind Write and cdrwin for years before trying CloneCD and it is the only copy progfram I've ever had problems with.
Never mind, have just fitted Lite-On 52-24-52 burner and now that I've slagged it off CloneCD 4.2 seems to work perfectly with new cd burner ( shrug) wadda ya do??!!
Perhaps it just my ancient crappy lg burner that was the problem, although according to elby it should have worked okay.
Regards to all

dvd20ne pass (does most films in 20 mins here) CloneDVD is near useless.
What's the point of not being able to back up your original DVD movies? Most of them are encrypted and the ph*cking program won't handle that.
Useless.

So I tried it the way Dust said it might work.
DVD Decrypter --> DVD2One --> CloneDVD --> DVD-R
That produced a DVD movie, downsized from DVD9 to DVD5, with Region Protection removed.

what the hell you doing all that for?
dvd-shrink to nero to dvdr
dvd shrink has decryption that has decrypted all my movies but shrek......that one i used dvd decrypter, then dvd shrink
CloneDVD's transcoding is by far the best I've seen.
The fact that it doesn't rip is immaterial - and it'll include that soon enough.
