what is the best media [cd-r] for backing up ps1 games to play on a ps2 v7 +messiah pro i used black disks that run on my ps1 100% but very slow on ps2 so i copyed to cheep crap light green
disks and they play better 80% but all dvd-rs play 100% so it not the lazer

Verbatim is great for cd games.

They are dark blue. You can pick them up any basically any retailer and dirt cheap off ebay.

Only problem with Verbatim discs is that for whatever reason, they have been blacklisten by Lite-On.

What I mean is that ANY Lite-On drive, regardless of speed, will only write to a Verbatim disc at 16x.

It's a setting in their BIOS.

It's REALLY annoying.

BUT, that said - I wouldn't burn a PS1 game any faster than 16x anyway.

I keep meaning to put my Lite-On 24x back into my machine, because my Plextor DVD burner only burns at 16x for CD's... but then I try to remember the last time I didn't turn down to 16x anyway... and it was for Data, which I back up to DVD now anyway so...

I am sure you can download some old/hacked firmware that can take care of that problem.
