now i was wondering, before i mess around with b-i wires, i can load my cd-r ps2 backups using game shark they wont direct boot only dvd+r do. now do those wires have anything to do with direct booting them? or am i just booting them up wrong thats why i get the red screen?

ok heres the deal. the whole time i was blaming myself for soldering something wrong because my ps2 wouldnt play cd-r based back ups. so after opening the ps2 and looking at the cd/dvd pads (b-i) i noticed that one wire....the bare part was ever so slightly touching another wire...also the bare part i simply moved them apart and now my v5 messiah 2 ps2 finally plays all backups! i just wanna say thanks to everyone who helped me and put up with my questions for the past month or so.

peace out

Well done.

May we know please which wires were touching - for the database?

well for kinda fuzzy i mean when i load a psx game all the colors and graphic look really dull and kinda blurry (like a nes game) the playstation logo colors are faded its kinda hard to explain but it doesnt look like its suppose to but as far as ps2 cd-r backups....perfect
