after all the hassle i went through with my v5, messiah 2 i finally fixed my reset button so i decided to see if i could play backups. heres what i get.......

PSX original......no
PSX backups.....no
PS2 originals.....yes
PS2 cd-r backups........no (yes, when using game shark2)
PS2 dvd+r backups.......yes

now i was wondering why it wont load any psx games when i put it in standby mode and hold reset down till blue light comes on and why wont it direct boot my cd-r ps2 games?

thanks in advanced

Usually if just PSX backups don't work it is the SCex wire. When you throw in the fact that CD-R PS2 backups don't work it throws in some other options but it is still a good suspect. I would also check for cold solder joints or any kind of bad connection on your wires going to the CD\DVD controller (wires going to the back+A)

ok i went back in to check the scex and A wire....while checking the A wire came completly off so i re did that and of course that piece of **** scex wire was unhooked also....so i resoldered that now i cant get anything to load...only orginal ps2 games my dvd+r wont even load up anymore

ok i bought a new soldering tip and re soldered scex like a pro and its flow now once again my dvd+r backups are working and with that being said.......i dont think i should mess with it anymore

thanks for everything
