Hey i got my A05 today (woohoo!!). Just waitin on my blank dvd-r's now and im good to go. Anyways I heard i need a firmware to burn riteks at 2x? I dled it i dont understand tho what it does? I also heard about a rollback driver to make it burn everyting at 2x?
Also what software should i be using to burn ps2 games, and what to copy dvd movies?
If i make a copy of a dvd movie will it play like a real dvd movie in my dvd player? will it also play like a real dvd movie in my ps2?
Thanks!
I wouldn't bother to be honest. I used this for my 104 and it started to toast my Riteks. I just flashed to v1.41 and will live with 1x burning :(
for dvd games use RECORD NOW MAX and for cd games use CLONE CD. here (http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43792) is a tutorial for ps2 games and here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/141024.php) all the info for DVD'S.
The 2X Ritek hack works PERFECT with the A05.....
If you downloaded it, it should have came with a .txt file that explains EXACTLY what to do....
Q:How do I flash my drive then?
A:Flashing almost always just works through Windows, so lets first handle that:
1) First decide which firmware you want to install, download that package to your computer.
2) Once it is on your computer, you need to 'EXTRACT' the file to a folder on your harddrive, I created self-extracting files so you only need to run them and select a location to extract them to. A folder is then automaticly created for you, with the firmware files in it.
3) Remove any disk in the DVD-R drive, this will might cause an error when trying to flash.
4) In the packages mentioned above there is a file called UPGRADE.BAT. If you double click this, it will start the flashing procedure. If you have downloaded one of the original firmwares, you will need to execute the UPGDVD.EXE.
5) It will ask you if you really want to flash your DVD drive.. You need to click 'Yes' to start flashing *sigh*.
6) If it says it is done flashing, you're done.
