can i copy the sims and with record now max i want to know if i can make a back up or if i should just get 2 copies

The Sims original is Safedisk 1.
Very easy to copy - have a look at Vluka's guide (http://www.fileforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43666) - you should try using Alcohol 120%
