For the matrix chip, does it matter what xbox motherboard version you have. I bought mine last November when they started that bundle deal,(2 games, controller s and system). I don't know what version it is but i'd have to guess 1.2. Thanks.

I'm willing to bet you have a Ver.1.1 not a 1.2.
Any way, I wouldn’t suggest you getting the Matrix unless you have a 1.0 any way. Pogo pins and 1.1 & 1.2s don’t mix.

Go here http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions.php (XBox versions) to see that Ver. XBox you have.

I just did that System Info thing and it says I have a v1.0. Don't know how great that test is though. If it isn't a v1.0, then what modchip should i get, because i cant solder and i dont want to risk messing up. Ive never solder before in my life.

Open your XBox up and look at the PCB area.
If they are filled you have a Ver.1.0 if they are not, you have a Ver.1.1

I have found no solder ships Don’t really play nice with Ver.1.1s They don’t wanta line up with the D0, so you have to end up soldering it any way.

If you have a Ver.1.1 I would buy the X2 and send you XBox out to get modded.
I would suggest Bill at NEW AGE PSX & X-BOX Service (http://www.freedomlives.com/), he dose great work, hes fast and its only $40.
