Hi,
1. I have a pal ps2 and I was wondering if a ntsc network adapter worked on a pal ps2? I was wanting a ntsc adapter because I wanted to use a dial up connection and the pal adapter is said to only have broadband.
2. Will an ntsc adapter work with the isp FREESERVE
3. Will there be any services which I won't be able to get full access to with a ntsc adapter instead of a pal adapter?
4. Will I still be able to connect to uk servers with a ntsc ps2 adapter.
5. Will pal games which are internet playable work on uk servers with the ntsc ps2 adapter.

Sorry for all the questions I just wanted to get this clear.

Thanks for all your help in advance.

These are some pretty specific questions. You might want to get in contact with Sony about these questions. I know you can use an NTSC Network Adapter on a PAL system but I am not sure if narrowband will work.

I have a pal ps2 (30004R) moded with messiah 1 and I use ntsc adaptor with it with no problem, this adaptor has problem with pal consoles that moded with magic 3(you can not load your Isp start up disk) and work fine with messiah.

although I am not in the UK but I think it works with all dial up isps that based on tcp/ip protocol.

also there are some isp name's in the setup wizard but if your isp name doesn't listed there, you can setup your isp configuration by adding your dialing number and user name and password manually.it is really simple.

after you connected you can play your game on the net. and it doesn't depend on your network adaptor version(pal or ntsc)

sorry for my poor english,I hope it helps.

I have one more question.

Will the ps2 games which come out in pal be broadband only games or will some accept dial up?

as long as u have a network adaptor u shud b able to use it. But i think u shud get a faster connection. I would get very angry with a [poo] connection i think u shud consider a faster connection.

Along the same lines, I just got a NTSC network adapter and I'm curious about the PAL compatibility as well.

I've noticed that the package says the software for it is only for use with an NTSC consol. Do I need to get the PAL software from someone? Or will that actually work without issue on mine?

I heard that new software has dna$ protection and won't work on other region ps2, however you can still set up the network with one of the pal online games that you have.

I don't see why a NTSC network adapter wouldn't work on a PAL PS2, since the region is software controlled. I don’t think the PS2 would care.

The one problem I do see with this is you would have to use some kind of phone line plug adapter.
