socom with cable modem

i just got a cable modem and im wondering if i hook it into my ps2 usb port if i can play socom online? just want to know before i unhook my modem

You need an online adapter for your ps2....

i have one could i connect it to the ethernet port? just want to make sure the ps2 will recognize the modem
