Need help choosing a DVD burner

I'm looking at getting one today. My bud has a memorex DVD+r burner with Nero 5.5 and it works flawlessly on my V4 PS2. I was considering getting it since I know that it works fine but I was also looking at a couple of other models. They are...

-Verbatim DVD+r/rw-$249.99 -I like the price but I don't know about the software that it comes with.

Why get a +r/+rw burner? -r is liked by more versions of ps2 and -r media is cheaper too. You can get a 4x Cendyne for around $200.
