I currently have a ps2 PAL bought in Norway. It is chipped with Magic 3.

The problem is that there is a black area in the bottom of the screen when I'm playing backupped import games. I'm sure there is something I'm doing wrong but I can't figure out what...

Most games work perfectly (except for some original games that suddenly stops in loading areas), but when I try to convert a NTSC-game to a PAL-game to get color (I've tried ADR-patcher, ASA-patcher and pal4u 2000 on the games "Soul calibur 2" and "Marvel vs. Capcom 2") there appears a black area at the bottom of the screen pressing the image together in the top three-quarter part of the screen. Everything except that works fine.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong ?

(PS: I'm using a cd-r)

I dont personally do any NTSC to PAL conversions, but you may want to try something like this tool (http://www.megagames.com/console/cgi-bin/dl.cgi?id=psx&file=gf-yfixpar2!zip) :)
Y-Fix Par Code Finder finds the Y-Fix Codes that are necessary to center the picture after changing the videomode (PAL/NTSC).

You have to convert it to the same output your tv has, pal or ntsc.
