Hi does anyone know of a way to reset the allowable rating password for the DVD's on the PS2. I installed a mod chip on a friends PS2 and went to make sure the DVD play back was working like it should and couldnt because of the password thing. So then I asked him if he knew what it was and he has forgotten it. Any help would be great thanks.

Enter 7444. This resets the password. I would just turn off parental control then.

This dose not work for me on my Ver5. Just tells me "invalid password". Any ideas? Not that I watch DVD's on my PS2, but it would be good incase some day I need to, and forgot my password.

RMS ive checked, and checked dude and they keep saying the same method as above. If uve never used your ps2 dvd ive seen a few sites mention that the default password could either be 0123 or 0000 . Maybe try that and wish it will work. Well good luck.

As a final resort, open up ps2 and remove the battery for an hour, that should do the trick.

It resets the time and date anyway so would have thought everything would default back to factory settings.

When it asks you for your password, push select then enter 7444.

Pressing select and putting in 7444 did it.
I have no idea why I had a password on there in the first place.
