I'm trying to decide on whether or not to get a matrix chip or an xcuetor pro 2. I don't care about soldering or anything but I'm really just looking for a newer chip than the one I have so I can upgrade the bios for it so I can bypass the media check. So how does the matrix and the x2 pro compare up in reference to the media check.

They both work fine. Just as long as they have the right bios on them to by-pass the media check.
And I would suggest the X2 lite over the pro, unless you really have a need to switch bioses.
LOL sorry about editing your post. I went to add some thing to mine and hit edit on yours. I didnt see it 'til after I saved.

No problem, hey just thanks a lot for the help! I was really considering the x2 lite or pro due to the fact that a few of my other friends wnated to mod their boxes as well and so far the only chip I know that works with v1.2 xbox has been the x2 lite and pro models
I'm willing to bet any modchip will work on the 1.2s, but I', not sure. You just mite have to do a little soldering on the D0 if you were using some thing solderless like the Matrix.

the matrix has a bios and is non-solder
the x2-pro has upto 4 bios' and is solder-9 points and a d0
