Nec Dvd+rw

I got a nec dvd+rw drive from dell I got a question I've installed the drive on my computer on the master jumper and I've installed nero record max primodvd and all of them say that no supported burners are found. I installed roxio and it works fine with the nec burner anybody got any idea why this is I tried to find updates but no sucess any suggestions

Try installing ASPI layer 4.60 here (http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/driverdetail.html?sess=no&filekey=aspi32.exe) if you don't have it already.
Also try installing the latest px engine update here (http://support.sonic.com/Downloads/files/pxEngine390.exe)

@ KRONIK - did you manage to get your apps to recignise your DVD writer?

I downloaded a new firmware from dells web page today I'm going to try it tonight but so far nothing has work I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hopeing this well work if not I'll format and reinstall my system and if that doesn't work I will return the drive l8ter I'll let you know if it works our not

Are you using the newest versions available of the software you are having problems with?

I'm using the new nero 5.5.10.20 the newest record max 4.50 with psxengine installed and primodvd2 I think but roxio 6 works just fine so I'm confused but I'm going to back everything up tonight and just ffr the thing again and this time run a debug partion and put the dvd+rw on its own IDE cable hopefully everything should work if not I'm probally going to send the drive back.

Hey I got my dvd+rw to work I found out what happened I download some burning programs from kazaa and I'll the programs I downloaded was infected with the w32 handyyllp virus I think thats how you spell it. Well i debugged ffr and scanned every cd before I put them in my computer before installing them. then I redownloaded nero 5.5.10.20 and installed rebooted and now it works I haven't tried recordnow or primodvd but I'll work on downloading them tonight I got 56k so its not that fast but hey thanx for all the help l8ter
