To all users of this forum (Pioneer A05 & PrimoDVD)

Hi everyone.


As most of you know the Pioneer A05 writer doesn't work correctly when using PrimoDVD software, as the program doesn't reconize the drive even with the latest PXengine update, until see below:

However, i've just recently upgraded from an A04 to a A05, as i got the A05 writer for £50 from a friend :). Anyway, i had updated my PrimoDVD and RecordnowMax with the latest PXengine update i.e (390) before installing the A05. To my amazement PrimoDVD reconized the A05 straight away and i've sucessfully burned 5 PS2 games at 4X. This has really confused me, as a lot of people who use this forum don't agree using Primo with the A05, as it does not work properly. I know because my friend has had the A05 from Day 1 and basically he had problems with Primo not seeing the drive. This is not a joke or a wind up, etc. As i really have PrimoDVD working with the A05. Could it be the new PXengine that's fixed the problem. What do you think 'BG'?

I just thought i would share this with everyone and hope someone else try's it and posts back.

My a05 has worked for a while with primo dvd because i have record now 4.50 installed

So it could be RecordnowMax which enables PrimoDVD to work if that it's installed as well. Have you tried having Primo without Max installed and see what happens.

The A05 works with Primo for some people and for others it doesn't. BG has RecordNow Max and Primo doesn't work for him. The new PX Engine update might have fixed the A05 compatibility problem.

Oh, i see. I thought PrimoDVD never worked at all with the A05 even for some people. Thanks for telling me. I thought i was the first person or somthing to have it working. LOL:D

NOPE.... Even with the new PXEngine update... Primo wont rec my writer....

Its strange.... As Bighap said... Some IT WILL work for... OTHERS... It won't work at all.....:confused:

i don't have record now max installed and prassi primo dvd works fine for me with my a05..
and the latest px engine i've got is 358..
used to have probs b4 but it had nothing to do with recognising my drive, it always recognised it.

there are a few diff versions of prassi out there

I have the CenDyne 105, and it works with Primo.

Version 2.0 is the one i have Dust.

I use Primo with my A05. Innitially I had no probs with win98 but I did need the pxengine when I upgrded to xp pro.
