This might be off the topic but Im new to this burning thing I use recordnow max to burn my dvds this is the first time Im going to try this Ok I got a dvd movie and I want to back it up with dvd-r can I just make copy using make an exact copy I heard that dvd-rs can only really record 3.9 or something and not 4.7 so will my dvd fit on dvd-r the dvd is friday after next I just want to make a exact copy can I do it? Thanks in advance
You can't just copy a dvd. There are protections. You can only fit about 4.38 gb on one dvd. You have a few options. There is dvdxcopy (www.dvdxcopy.com), that is what I use. It usualy requires 2 discs for a movie becuase most movies are bigger than what 1 dvd holds. This program keeps all extras and true dvd quality. And there is dvd2one (www.dvd2one.com) or dvd shrink (http://www.dvdr-digest.com/software/software.php?file=dvdshrink). These programs compress the movie to fit onto one disc. The quality loss isn't very noticable if at all.

hip hip hoowrong dvd's dont have protections i have over a thousand backed up dvds and never ever come across a protection the only thing that u might have to do is take special featuresa out or degrade the quality using dvd shrink
after doing this if its needed then u can burn it with prass, recordnow, nero what ever u want okay

Yeah and the "Encryption" is just for kicks.
Maybe you should drink a few more beers to get back to a normal state of mind.
