Anyone able to help with a good Quality brand of DVD-R disks at a reasoable price in Australia? as a couple of the "Laser" brand disks I have used to copy have broken down during playback on my Toshiba home player.

What is a capable player able to play DVD-R? as all disks will play without fault in the computer

Ritek and Traxdata are the best, and cheap too. Don't know if they are available in AUS though. More and more dvd players are supporting recorded media. Look here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers) to see which format they support.

Give Shintaro a try.

I have used 40 plus with only two bad disks, one I should have detected when I bought the disk from a market trader.

JB Hi Fi sell 1 X at $2.99 a disk inc. case

I can get them from a local supplier at $3 a pop

2 x Shintaro's are $3.50 but I haven't tried them out yet.

They will be cheaper again if you buy them in a spindle pack. Try Sold.com.au or blankcd.com.au if you want to purchase online.

There's an article at www.doom9.org written on 11/4 that says your burner is a rebadged Pioneer and it explains how you can convert it into an original Pioneer drive and enjoy the benefits that may reap. I haven't read any further but it may be worth your while.

Good luck !
