Hey everyone
Yesterday I copied Operation Flashpoint (GOTY-Edition). Everything was ok, the game ran without problems.
Today, after I restarted my PC, the game doesn't accept the copied cd, saying the original Cd can't be found.
(the same problem i had some time ago with a copy of SimCity 4)
Can anybody help me please...

This is how it works.
Problebly the SafeDisc 2.8 as operation Flashpoint are, has been chashed in you ram when you put in you original CD.
And did a copy and maybe install the game.
So when you restart you computer and turn it off, Windows Clears the cash (as logical) and you SafeDisc aren't buffering. (observer is only Safedisc for Operation Flashpoin: GOTY that I talking about. Other games also cash in the memory but you might not have run another game then Operation Flashpoint becuase if you did and try to run OFP again you might see the backup copy don't work ether.. :p)
You can dump your CD to harddrive and mount the image in Alcohol-Software..
What software did you use to make a backup?

Thanks for your answer - i didn't know that "This is how it works"
I made the image and the cd-copy with clonecd.
Can you explain me "dump your CD to harddrive and mount the image in Alcohol-Software.."

Clonce CD isn't the greatest chose of burning tool if I will spek it out.
Special not with SafeDisc 2.8 versions.
Any way, use Blindwrite Tools or Alcohol-Software.
dump image to harddrive means, with those tools you can create image to you harddrive.
With Alcohol-Software you can mount the image and simulate SafeDisc protection.
That's mean that you get an virtual cd-driver/dvddriver that are in the haddrive and not for real. And you image become a virtual CD-Rom (you must dump hole image) and if you emulate you might run the game without the real cd. just the image.
Alcohol-Software can be found at www.alcohol-software.com
Blindwrite that's are a great backup tool can be found at www.blindwrite.com
And I'm not realy shore if it's that "how it works" becuase I just read it in Deamon tools stuff that SafeDisc 2 might works so....so I realy need one more to confirm that the information I gave you is right...

I tried to mount the image with deamon (also with safedisc emulation) but it doesn't work!
Should i try alcohol-software? Is it better than deamon?
I heard the OFP uses a blacklist that don't start the game if any application like deamon is running ?!?

Like I sad deamon tools giving you some information about how there SafeDisc emulation works.
That you might install the game then dump the image to harddrive then do stuff like that... I realy don't under stand Deamon tools if I gonna be hounest.
But alcohol-software works.
But you might have an image from your original CD. Maybe backup CD dosen't works, becuase I think some sectors are missing and that includes that the sectors are also missing in the image file. And that's not a perfect image... for the mounting tool to work with.
I dump my Operation Flashpoint - Resistance original cD with Alcohol-Software and emulate and mount, and it works... so give it ahead.

I tried alcohol-software, but the same as with deamon!
Maybe caused by bad image...
I think I'll try it again with blindwrite tomorrow

Like I wrote before... You should redo the image in your harddrive from your ORIGINAL CD:S
!!NOT from the backup CD!!
