I've heard some bad reports using Sony DVD-R's......

You can try the Verbatims that you ordered.....

If that doesn't fix it..... BURN it on Ritek....... Works perfectly....

By the way... What program and burner did you use?

Forget Verbatim. It is all about Ritek. Better than Verbatim and a third of the cost. You can get a 100 pack for $110 at rima.com. Ditch Nero for ps2 games. Try using the RecordNow Max demo here (http://downloads.stompinc.com/files/stpRNM450e_STPD.exe)

My buddy backed up Splinter using Nero and Maxell media. Both have worked flawlessly for us.

Don't waste you time burning the game again. It won't solve the problem, cos it's not the media or the way you are burning it. I install modchips for a living and get a lot of feedback from customers. It appears to be some sort of protection on the game. It does that with all v7 machines. It's fine with earlier versions. The only chip I've installed on a v7 that works with that game is a chip called NH3 or Magic4 or Stealth5. It's the same chip only different names. I hope someone brings out a patch for it soon cos it's causing a lot of headaches.
Let me know if someone has managed to play the game with a moded v7 and a different chip from the one I mentioned.

Its the problem that you always run into with the "cheap" mod chips......

The Messiah 2, and the original Messiah.... Boot the game perfectly.....

I tried 2 different v7 machines with Magic 3.1. I played for about half an hour on each. Everything seemed to work fine.

Sorry, I meant to say that the game plays fine on a v7 machine with a Magic 3.1.
Both original and backup.

Whoa, someone actually knows the NH3 mod exists! I am really starting to think that this mod is much better than the REAL magics.

I am actually rigging my system for interchange right now. I was looking at getting one of these NH3 for some testing but have yet to find a good site to buy one. The best price I have seen was $26. I did find one other site, hongkongtoys I think, that offered it for $10 but the site seemed very shady. If anyone knows a good place to get it please let me know.
