View Full Version : Bf 1942 - Crash to desktop after changing servers?
Has anyone else experienced a crash to desktop when attempting to change servers in multiplayer mode? This seems to happen after applying the no-cd crack. (All releases) I think it has something to do with the hacked .dll included with the crack, although I'm uncertain. If anyone has ran into this, and found a solution then please post your findings. Peace in the middle east...
yes, me too
next time i'll try w/o a crack

I have read that's a mistake from EA-Games, from version 1.31.
Or to be more spec. If you try to connect on multi-player, the game can crash with out error message to the desctop.
Hopefully it will be fixed in the 1.32 patch or later...
Yes it's the same if you are using the original CD.
So it's a bug! But maybe that's wasen't the information you want it... well well I've said it now..

That isn't correct. It has something to do with the no-cd crack (all of them) When I use the cd in my drive I can switch servers with no problem. When I use the no-cd crack everytime I try to switch servers it crashes to desktop.
I'm also anxious to see if anyone knows a cure for this!

Well it's 1.4 that's are the latest version.
But if you wanna have perfect BF1942 dump you original CD to the harddrive then mount it to mounting tool ;)

This topic has been beat to death in past threads. You better know what 1.4 means or we're all wasting or time here. Krondike's English can make some people crosseyed, but he does have good advise for the most part.
I avoid the "issue" by not changing servers ingame. I run All Seeing Eye to find my games and mods rather than the ingame GaySpy. When I want to change servers I quit the game and drop back into ASE. Its pretty fast as there is no CD check with the No-CD's. And ASE is alot better for ping checks than Gayspy.

I obviously know what v1.4 means I'm not a complete idiot . I was wondering what krondike meant by "Well it's 1.4 that's are the latest version." And I was letting him know that I do have 1.4.
So I guess what your saying is that there is no fix for the crashing when trying to switch servers thing?
