Diary of an Amateur Mod Chipper

Part 1: The Early Days

The First PSX:

The Second PSX:

The Third PSX:

Other PSX's:

This is the really boring part. I won't even go into specifics, other than to say that I chipped a whole bunch of these things. Done and done.

Part 2: It's Thinking!

The Dreamcast was a joy to mod. No real protection, we were just beating region coding and whatnot. I have nothing amazing to say about these installs. They were really straightforward. One interesting note is that my Japanese Dreamcast (imported well before the US release of the system) was watercooled! Who would have guessed?

Part 3: PSWho? PSNew? PS2!

Neo... NEO...

Magically Delicious?

Apples and Oranges

Part 4: It's from Microsoft... and you want me to do WHAT to it?

Favourite passtimes of an ameteur chipper.

Telling your mates that its a doddle to fit a messiah 2 and then letting them use your gear to try and fit one.

Listening to them scream and curse for 8 hours at which point they bring it in to test it and it doesn't work.( Favourite part!! They almost in tears!!!LOL!!!)

Then charging them to fix their botched mod installation.

I'll be filling this in as time permits. :)

But yeah that's fun. My friend, a professional EE, while he DID show me a thing or two he also botched a PSX install nicely. That's part of the horror story of my second PSX mod. ;)
