I heard that ver 5 - 8 are not as good as ver 3 and 4, is it true?

if so, what are the difference between them?

No, its the other way around, version 5 to 8 are better than version 3 and 4 as the v.5 to 8 have a better laser fitted in them that reads dvd-r and dvd+r better, ideal for modding!
