Galactic Civilizations

Do you need a NOCD crack to make Galactic Civilizations run without a CD through the entire game? It seems to work without one but I haven't progressed very far into the game yet.

Nope, cd is not required at all. It was designed that way, the only copy protection measure is the stardock patch system with the unique serial key.
