installed raven shield, copied no cd exe and dll and server dll files but everytime I enter the multiplayer browser the game crashes (multi loop error). is there a way to get online with the no cd crack? or is there a separate file i need for it to function? single player works fine.

i sometimes get the same error and i haven't modifies the files at all. the game is buggy as hell, my friend has been getting similar errors as well..can almost never play multiplayer without having to log on to the ubi.com site and starting a game from there. complain to ubisoft so they can get off their asses and make one hell of a patch.

found out a way ... ubi.com actually has a temporary fix (until the new patch comes out) ... simply add -norunaway to the run command (ie "...ravenshield.exe" -norunaway) and the browser won't crash. however, if you have one copy of the game and would like to install on 2 different PCs like myself you'll be out of luck. the game needs a serial number for each pc to run. i guess i'm looking for cracks or patches where the game's "prompt" for a cd key can be removed. like a no-cd crack there should be a no-cdkey crack.

In LAN click the green Button and wait for next Screen, you don't need a CD-Key to play in LAN

You got it all wrong.
Uncheck the dicated server (or what the name is)
If you do, the CD-KEY are prompet.
Other wise the game goes out and a MS-DOS windows box are starting. And you only start a LAN server....
If you want to join the LAN server....you need to get to another computer. And others needs CD-Key...

krondike, better check before you post... :p

you will even get asked for a cdkey if you start a LISTEN LAN server (which means having the 'dedicated' checkbox unticked and chosen LAN from the listbox) and if you join a LAN game.

"For you maybe for me no!
I've saw people posting about CD-Key problem and stuff like that.
And realy didn't know why they ask problems like that.
I've never got the CD-KEY prompt stuff.
I realy didn't know what to use the CD-Key thing that's are in the manual.
I thought that might be use when you play on internet or something.

Then I try to start a lan.
As you know the 'dedicated server' are checked as a deffualt.

And I click and host or start or what button you click.
The game gets out and a MS dos box are open...... I didn't know how I could play LAN with that thing... any way I reales that was a 'dedicated' or a 'LISTEN LAN SERVER' you call it.
The thing was, I NEVER got a CD-KEY box. Before I start a none LISTEN LAN SERVER....and the CD-KEY are storage in the regedit. So I never have to write it again.. well well. Lucky for the game I have no hiddenhidden my manuals and box for the game. So I want and will not press in the CD-KEY againa... NO ONE SHOULD TUCH MY BOX NO ONE!. *guard with a AK-47 :p*

dedicated server =! listen server

dedicated = only server
listen = server + ability to play on same machine

I mean it's not able to play on the same machine.
It's only start the server.
By flipping out to a MS-DOS box.. what ever.
I've never have a CD-KEY message when a MS-DOS box are flipping!
any way they have change rule by the CD-Key for the new 1.1 patch. But I haven't test that function yet...:D
