Backup my DVD's

I'm very new to all this. Kids are scratching up all the DVD movies. So far, I was reading all the posts and everyone suggests using DVD X Copy for ease. Can I use RecordNow Max or Nero to backup my movies with ease instead of ripping etc...

You have to use a ripping prog, such as dvd decoder or smart ripper, to remove the protection first before you can use Nero or RecordNow Max. Dvdxcopy does both the ripping and burning for you.
