Well.....I have officially went through a 50 pack of Riteks without ONE coaster.....Now for the ultimate question...
At first I thought the 1x Media would do me just fine...But I want more speed....I have the 4x Cendyne....So can I buy 4x Riteks?
I am backing up my Dvd collection and Ps2 collection...
Any suggestions? Usually I would do a couple at night and then let one run overnight. Also the White top Riteks are more money.....Can I just go with the Silver Topped.....I don't make labels....just the Dvd Case labels
Thanx all
If you want more speed then get the 4x Riteks! I have heard good things about them. I know BG has had great success with them. Just buy the silver tops. It is best not to put labels on them anyways.
Yeah.....
I use the 4X Riteks (silver top) and LOVE THEM......

Yikes I wouldn't touch 4X DVD-Rs if you do a lot of burning. They are pretty expensive man.
Right now I use Princo 1x. White tops and purple bottoms for PS2 and Xbox and they work just too sweet.
Good thing a firmware hack just came out for my burner so now I can burn my 1x DVD-Rs at 2x which makes a difference :)
On the other hand Princos 4X are still at a descent price. Riteks 1x seem expensive not to mention 4X.

Riteks 4x here on Ebay

of course you probably can find them cheaper somewhere else.
Expensive? You can get a 100 pack from rima.com for $175. Still a lot cheaper than people buying name brands such as Verbatim or TDK.

Yeah that's true...
But for $122CAD I bought 100pak of Princos 1X which I can burn at 2X
So $175USD for me is $262CAD. That is kinna expensive. I rather just stick at 2X burning for a lot cheaper.
Pretty good proces here with free shipping

I usually get the Ritek silver and I use labels because if you scratch that silver layer then you are actually scratching the data off the disc. just don't ever try to peel the label off because sometimes the data will come off with it. The clear plastic labels work really well because they aren't damaged by moisture (you can spill your cola or coffee onit and just wipe it off).
I went through 50 of those 4X riteks already. All of them worked fine. It plays on my dvd player and my ps2 (movies). Of course the games worked as well.
I would go ahead and buy those 4X riteks if you plan on burning a lot of dvds and games. The time saved is worth much more than the money you would save otherwise on 1x or even 2x medias. Our 4X Cendyne don't burn at 2x on most or all 1x media if you didn't know already. Compare the 1x media multiply by 100 discs and would have spent a hundred hours just burning stuffs. On the other hand 4X media multiply by 100 discs only waste 15 hours of your life. Saving 60 or so dollars ain't worth it to me to be wasting 85 hours of my life. Just a thought.
